World Bicycle Relief
What WBR doWorld Bicycle Relief is a charity that improves impoverished and poor people's lives through the 'Power of the Bicycle'. They give bikes to people all around the world; Africa, South America, Indonesia, Thailand & the Philippines, among other places.

How we are helpingAs a Corporate Partner, a portion of every project that we do goes towards funding a bike. We are proud of our contribution towards this cause and helping them to give nearly half a million bikes around the world.
|
'The Power of the Bicycle'Bicycles enable healthcare workers to reduce travel time and visit more patients daily. They provide greater carrying capacity, enabling farmers and entrepreneurs to transport more goods in less time. Bikes for students reduce travel time to and from school and more bicycles in the hands of girls and boys in rural regions of the developing world will help lift families and communities out of poverty.

Ecosia
Sol Environment are proud to use the Ecosia search engine in the workplace. Ecosia plant trees for every search that you make, reducing the carbon impact of an otherwise un-environmentally friendly necessity. For every search, 1kg of CO2 is reduced from the atmosphere. Find out more at Ecosia.org
What happens:
1.You make a search using Ecosia. The search engine is completely privacy-friendly and their servers run on 100% renewable energy.
|
2.Once you have made roughly 45 searches, enough money has been made to plant a tree. A native tree is planted where it is needed most somewhere around the world.
|
3.The trees benefit people, the environment and local economies.

Biobutanol
Sol Environment is funding research into the use of sustainable biofuels as a replacement for fossil fuel hydrocarbons in the combustion engine.
We have, along with a number of our clients in the sustainable an alternative biofuels sectors partnered with a UK based low volume niche car manufacturer to develop a project that uses MSW derived bio-butanol as a zero carbon petrol replacement in standard combustion engine. We hope that the project will be completed in 2022.
